Urinary Retention and Catheterisation This module provides a clinical overview of urinary retention — both acute and chronic presentations — covering pathophysiology, diagnostic approach, and evidence-based management. It addresses indications, techniques, and complications of urinary catheterisation, including urethral and suprapubic routes, with emphasis on infection prevention and safe practice in resource-limited settings.
