Description The session describes the laboratory tests that are commonly used in the community to treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs), but not clinical details of the conditions that they are used for. Objectives By the end of this session you will be able to: • Choose appropriate tests for screening and/or diagnosis of common sexually transmitted infections • Interpret test results to make a presumptive or definitive diagnosis • Describe the optimum conditions for sampling e.g. window/incubation periods
