About this activity
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary malignancy of hepatocytes, representing the fifth most common cancer, worldwide. The nuclear lamina is a proteinaceous meshwork found below the inner nuclear membrane, composing of intermediate filament proteins: lamin A, lamin C and lamins B1 and B2. Lamins are essential for a number of cellular functions, including nuclear stability, chromatin structure and gene expressions. Lamin B1 was found to be down regulated in bronchogenic carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and gastric cancer.
