CME Introduction: Diabetic Emergencies Diabetic emergencies, such as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS), and severe hypoglycemia, are life-threatening conditions requiring prompt recognition and management. This session will provide an in-depth review of the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and diagnostic criteria of these emergencies. Key management principles, including fluid resuscitation, insulin therapy, electrolyte correction, and monitoring, will be discussed. Additionally, strategies for prevention and patient education to reduce the risk of recurrence will be highlighted.
