Management of complications of Malaria
About this activity
Management of Complications of Malaria Malaria remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality, particularly in endemic regions. Severe malaria can rapidly progress to life-threatening complications if not promptly recognized and treated. This CME session will cover evidence-based approaches to the management of key complications, including: Severe anemia requiring transfusion Cerebral malaria with altered consciousness and seizures Hypoglycemia and metabolic derangements Acute kidney injury Respiratory distress and pulmonary edema Shock and multi-organ dysfunction Early diagnosis, supportive care, and effective antimalarial therapy are critical to reducing mortality. Participants will gain practical skills in identifying and managing these emergencies to improve patient outcomes.
